Graphic Designer (Part-Time)

Job Summary:

Rita’s is currently seeking a part-time graphic designer to be responsible for developing production art in various digital and print formats. Our ideal candidate will have expert knowledge of current design software and skilled with every step of the design process from concept to the final deliverable. Collaborating with Rita’s franchisees, agencies and internal teams, the graphic designer should be able to take direction from written or spoken ideas and convert them into a design that fits within our brand’s look and feel. The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of branding and marketing, with the ability to vary style and layouts depending on the project.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Production design of branded materials, including but not limited to:
    • In-store merchandising (ie. point-of-purchase materials, menu boards, signage)
    • Digital assets (ie. social media, website, email, app, banner ads, etc.)
    • Advertising (ie. print ads, direct mail, billboards/outdoor)
    • Presentations and Communications (powerpoints, memos, guides, etc.)
    • Packaging
    • Apparel
  • Management and fulfillment of franchisee creative request program (includes driving the creative direction)
  • Study design briefs and determine requirements
  • Creation of product-centric visualizations which covey accurate messaging as dictated by the project (including selection of colors, fonts, images and layouts)
  • Presentation of designs to stakeholders, and implementation of feedback and changes when appropriate
  • QA/proof designs for errors
  • Preparation of finished artwork
  • Development and management of Rita’s brand standards
  • Scheduling and prioritization of projects
  • Communicating with franchisees
  • Working with agencies and production vendors as needed
  • Manage budgets (if applicable) and meet deadlines
  • Contribute to team efforts
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements Include: 

  • 2-year college degree in graphic design or related field
  • Demonstrate graphic design skills with a portfolio
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver)
  • Experience with GIF and video animation preferred
  • Ability to drive creative direction and work autonomously
  • Ability to give and receive constructive criticism
  • Understanding of marketing, production, branding, advertising, product packaging and multimedia design.
  • A strong eye for visual composition and attention to detail
  • Project management skills
  • Effective time management/organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills
  • Must work well in a fast-paced environment and enjoy multi-tasking
  • Must work well with team members cross-functionally to achieve mutual goals
