Jeff Moody joined the Rita’s team in August 2013 as President & CEO, and brings with him over 30 years of business experience primarily in restaurants. Over his distinguished career, Jeff has worked extensively in both Company and Franchise systems, domestically and globally. He has held leadership roles in multiple leading restaurants such as CEO of MetroMedia Restaurant Group (Bennigan’s, Steak & Ale, Ponderosa, Bonanza), President of KFC U.S., Sr. V.P. Operations PepsiCo Restaurants International, and Division Vice President at Pizza Hut U.S., where he oversaw 2,000 domestic units.
In his most recent restaurant capacity, Jeff was CEO of Subway’s Franchise Advertising Trust, which is a separate $600 million entity responsible for advertising nearly 40,000 Subway restaurants globally. In this role, Jeff launched the disruptive $5 Footlong program, which in and of itself, is now an over $4 billion brand.
Jeff holds a B.A. in Economics from Amherst College, and an MBA from Northwestern. He’s a big sports fan and enjoys being an empty nester and visiting his kids with his wife. His favorite Rita’s treat is a Banana Ice and Chocolate Custard Misto.
John Dombroski joined Rita’s in July 2013 as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. John is responsible for leading Rita’s financial, information technology, and human resource functions.
His 30-year career spans extensive expertise in finance, supply chain/purchasing, operations and strategic planning. He most recently served as the Chief Financial Officer for Sancoa International Company. Prior to Sancoa, he held senior financial positions with Hasbro, Inc. and Campbell Soup Company.
John is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University, and has a Master’s Degree in Marketing from Drexel University. He is a Coopers & Lybrand trained Certified Public Accountant, as well as a Certified Merger & Acquisition Advisor.
John’s favorite treat is a Mango Italian Ice.
Robin joined the Rita’s team in August 2014 as Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer. Robin brings over 25 years of experience with her and she has held senior leadership rolls in multiple organizations including Nissan, Burger King, Carraba’s Italian Grill and most recently with Arby’s where, in addition to her other responsibilities, she built the Stage Gate product development process. Along with her marketing team Robin is responsible for establishing strategic marketing plans both domestically and internationally as well as product innovation, brand management and planning and overseeing advertising on all levels.
Robin holds a B.A. from the University of Maryland. Her favorite Rita’s treat is a Wild Black Cherry Gelati.
As Senior Vice President of Operations, Lauriena Borstein is responsible for leading Rita’s operations, education, and procurement departments, as well as Cool University, Rita’s corporate store and training center. Lauriena and her team are responsible for supporting Rita’s Franchisees from the time they sign their franchise agreements, through development, and during the entire time their store is in operation.
Lauriena began her career with Rita’s in March 2006 as a Franchise Licensing Associate, and was promoted in 2009 to Director of Franchising. In this role, Lauriena led the Franchising Department and successfully grew Rita’s to 550 stores in 19 states. She’s made many valuable contributions and has worked very closely with all departments in the business to ensure Rita’s is successful as a whole.
Prior to Rita’s, Lauriena worked as a Financial Advisor for Ameriprise Financial. She is a graduate of The College of New Jersey. She’s an avid reader, and enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter.
